In the Synthesis Reports of the European Migration Network (EMN), main findings from the national studies are summarised, compared and put into context of developments in the EU. The national studies on behalf of EU Member States and Norway were elaborated by the EMN National Contact Points based in the respective countries.
IOM Slovakia provides UK nationals living in Slovakia with information and practical support in registering their residence in Slovakia from 25 June 2020. Changes in the residence status of citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland living in Slovakia result from the UK withdrawal from the European Union.

Social Cohesion: Recognizing Migration is a Benefit that Works for All
Too often, when we speak of migrants, we find ourselves having to speak about moments of extreme hardship, caught up in a narrative of crisis.
Geneva – Launched today at the 2019 IOM Council meeting by IOM Director General, António Vitorino, the latest edition of its flagship publication, the World Migration Report 2020 (WMR 2020), continues the organization’s commitment to providing information on migration that is well-researched, rigorous and accessible.
On 20-22 August 2019 in Bratislava, Slovakia 15 experts gave presentations at the 7th European Migration Network (EMN) Educational Seminar entitled Impacts and Opportunities of International Migration. Podcasts of their presentations and lectures can be found on the EMN seminar website.
The annual report informs about the most significant activities, changes and developments in the field of migration and international protection in Slovakia in 2018, putting them also in the context of EU policies and legislation. The report includes also migration statistics for Slovakia for 2018.
IOM Migration Information Centre (MIC) opens the next cycle of Open Courses of Slovak Language for citizens of non-EU countries with a permanent, temporary or tolerated residence permit in Slovakia. The courses are free of charge and are open both to beginners and the pre-intermediate.
IOM Slovakia provided training to another 87 professional practicioners who are working with vulnerable groups of population. Trained professionals are able to teach individuals and groups how to recognize the risks of human trafficking, how to avoid them and what to do in a crisis situation.

In 2018, IOM assisted 80 foreigners with their voluntary return to 21 countries of origin. The IOM Migration Information Center provided 4,550 clients with 6,763 consultations about important areas of life in Slovakia, and IOM lecturers trained another 96 professionals in the field of human trafficking prevention.
