Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes in Ukraine in search of safety. The situation is evolving by the hour and the needs of vulnerable and displaced persons are increasing drastically.

Geneva - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is appealing for USD 350 million to support its operations in response to the humanitarian needs of people in Ukraine and those who have fled to neighbouring countries.

We reiterate the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres’ call for an immediate cessation in hostilities and the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

In 2021, IOM Slovakia trained additional 56 experts in the prevention of trafficking in human beings, developed a Labour Mobility Scheme for Slovakia for the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, created a new series of podcasts, and the IOM Migration Information Centre provided more than 1,000 more consultations than in 2020.
