Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 started second year of the Diversity Festival on 8th October 2013. The installment Hello&Goodbye was the attraction of festival that presented life stories of migrants living in Košice or Slovaks who lived abroad. Eleven public places in Košice offered the possibility to listen to the migrants' testimonies. Some of them were installed directly at places where migrants work as Thai massage salon – Baandokkoon, restaurant Passage 2 India or Turkish Kebab House. The testimonies were compiled and recorded by Austrian artists from uniT Kunstlabor Graz in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The Soup Festival held on 12th October 2013 in Kulturpark, Košice was the climax of Diversity Festival. The interconnection of minorities, migrants and citizens from Košice is the main thought of the festival. Visitors could enjoy dance workshops of Salsa Caliente, local communities’ performances, kid's corner but mainly diverse offer of soups. More than a thousand visitors could try 27 soups of local communities – e.g. Afghan soup Aush, Lebanon birthday lentil soup or Hokkaido pumpkin soup.

Visitors of festival and experts, including IOM representative, evaluated the quality of soup. The Golden Spoon for the best soup went to Goral cottage cheese soup of Polish cuisine.
