In December 2022, IOM Slovakia delivered two wheelchairs for disabled people who fled the war in Ukraine and look for assistance in the Michalovce Registration Centre.

In number of cases disabled people were forced to travel without a wheelchair or their health status suddenly worsed during their transfer. IOM frontline team at the centre can now offer them a help with a wheel chair.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, IOM donated more than 200 defibrillators, wheelchairs, walking aids, resuscitation figurine and crutches to help address health issues of people on the run.
