In the Synthesis Reports of the European Migration Network (EMN), main findings from the national studies are summarised, compared and put into context of developments in the EU. The national studies on behalf of EU Member States and Norway were elaborated by the EMN National Contact Points based in the respective countries.

Over half of the EU Member States considers that attracting and retaining innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups from countries outside the EU will enhance the economic growth and innovation, and will increase the global economic competitiveness. The Synthesis Report identifies the factors, prerequisites, specific approaches, schemes and tools for attracting and retaining innovative entrepreneurs from third countries, as well as explores the roles of countries, regions, cities and business infrastructure in this regard.

Beneficiaries of International Protection Travelling to Their Country of Origin
The Synthesis Report examines motivations of persons with granted international protection who decide to go back to their country of origin, and how such cases would be assessed by the countries that granted them the protection.
