On August 2, 2012 fifteen clients coming from Columbia, Nicaragua, Syria Egypt, United States and other countries used the opportunity to obtain complex counselling from representatives of several institutions. Pilot day of specialized counselling called ´One Stop Shop´ organized by the IOM Migration Information Centre (MIC) in Bratislava met with a positive response.
The aim of the One Stop Shop is to provide third-country nationals with information on residence, work, business and other aspects of life in Slovakia at one place. The consultants of MIC together with representatives of Aliens Police Department, Labour Office and Health Insurance companies providing public and commercial health insurance were available for migrants during the first day of specialized counselling.
The IOM Migration Information Centre plans to carry out more counselling days in Bratislava and Košice this year. Apart of the MIC consultants and representatives of institutions abovementioned, counselling will be provided also by representatives of Social Insurance Agency, Registry Office and Trade Licensing Office.
