What are the most common myths about foreigners and migration and what is the reality, how the International Organization for Migration (IOM) helps refugees in Ukraine and Slovakia and interesting educational materials about migration you could find out at the IOM Slovakia information stand during Europe Day in the Old Market Hall in Bratislava on 9 May.

Pupils, students, their teachers and the public at the IOM information stand:
- tested their knowledge of migration in the world and in Slovakia,
- learn about new IOM training materials and activities on migration for teachers,
- watched video interviews with foreigners in Slovakia (Les / Lionel / Nasi),
- got to know a series of IOM podcasts We are also here at home, along with tips for teachers on accompanying podcast activities,
- discovered a new board game for young people 16+ Destination Europe by the European Migration Network (EMN), which teachers can use to discuss international migration and the integration of foreigners,
- got to know the IOM Migration Information Centre (MIC), which has been helping foreigners in Slovakia for more than 16 years,
- and learned the most surprising facts about the IOM's humanitarian assistance for people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
The public event Europe Day was organized by the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia, the Office of the European Parliament and the European Investment Bank.
Besides IOM Slovakia, embassies and institutes of EU countries, several EU projects, ministries and other state bodies of the Slovak Republic presented their activities at the event.
