IOM Slovakia continues to strengthen awareness of its long-standing Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme, which supports migrants who wish to return to their country of origin but lack the necessary residence permit or financial means to do so. The AVRR programme offers a dignified, safe, and fully voluntary solution for individuals in vulnerable situations, and all services provided under the programme are free of charge.

Services offered through the programme include:

  • Assistance with obtaining travel documents
  • Purchase of flight tickets to the country of origin
  • Provision of pocket money before departure
  • Post-arrival support in selected countries, including reintegration assistance

Target groups eligible for AVRR include:

  • Migrants without valid residence permits
  • Asylum seekers who decide to withdraw their application
  • Individuals whose asylum applications have been rejected

  • The return is fully voluntary, dignified, and safe
  • All assistance is provided free of charge
  • Reintegration assistance may be available after return in cooperation with IOM missions in the countries of origin
