The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is leading the REACHMIND - Refugee, Education, and Children's Mental Health in Development project, an initiative that helps refugee, migrant, and minority children feel safe, supported, and included in their communities.

Project Details:

What the project aims to do: REACHMIND will give children, parents, and teachers the tools they need to understand and support mental health. It will create safe spaces where children can talk about their feelings, especially about challenges like discrimination or bullying. The project will also help teachers and students develop intercultural skills, promoting respect and inclusion

“We at IOM Slovakia are proud to be part of the REACHMIND project, working alongside our local partner Mareena to create practical and accessible resources that help children, parents, and teachers navigate mental health challenges. By fostering inclusion and intercultural understanding, we hope to create safer and more supportive environments where all children can thrive.”

- Alexandra FILČÁKOVÁ, Capacity Building Unit - IOM Slovakia

How the Project Works:

The project is being implemented in Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland. It ensures that children and key stakeholders are actively involved in designing practical solutions that improve mental health and inclusion. By working together across different countries, REACHMIND will help build stronger, more welcoming communities for all children.
